'Lovesick'- Oh Romance

‘Lovesick’ is a self described emo ballad, and as someone who has been a fan of Oh Romance since their debut EP in 2023 ‘Kiss & Tell’ (I have the signed t-shirt to prove it!) I believe that this is one of the best singles they have released. 

While it is slower than some of their other tracks, it still has that gritty hard rock style that the band have aligned themselves with. In my opinion this new single is one of the most vulnerable and honest songs Oh Romance have written. The track has a catchy but subtle riff that matches the tone of the song brilliantly and brings out an early 2000’s vibe that I love. The way the drums and guitar combine in the chorus, surprising the listener with a more open tempo that really helps express the pain in the lyrics,  portraying a theme of, as the band described it, as “being in love with the wrong person. You’re holding onto that feeling, because you can’t let go, no matter how much it hurts”. 

I look forward to hearing what else Oh Romance has in store for their fans, if it’s anything like this track then I definitely cannot wait!
